EXECUTIVE BOARD MEETING MINUTES - January 6, 2007
Good Shepherd Lutheran Church Tomah , Wisconsin
The meeting was called to order at 9:35 by President Bieno.
Opening Devotions: Pastor Daeke based on 1 Samuel 1 & 2
Members Excused: Payne, Jording, Verseman
Members Present: Bieno, D. Martin, E. Martin, Fielder, Oetzman, Fisher, Kraase, Ramel, Rev. Deake, Fenske, Pulley.
Minutes of Previous Meeting: Motion made and Seconded to approve minutes as printed. Carried.
Treasure’s Report: District has not received rebate applied for the last quarter of 2006. LHM is meeting to discuss future of rebates to districts at their next meeting. It is anticipated we will not get any more unless there is an urgent need. Motion made and Seconded not to pay $35 travel fee and motel costs to board members for the last district convention and future travel costs for board meetings until rebates are clarified. A new vote will be needed to reinstall reimbursements. Carried. After the above discussion, Motion was made and Seconded to approve treasure’s report and file for audit. Carried.
President’s Report: President Bieno distributed a written report that emphasized the JC Play Zone and New Neighbor Outreach.
Old Business:
1. Convention wrap up. Thank you letters were sent to appropriate contributors for the success of the district convention. Security check to Living Word Luther Church has not been deposited and will be considered a refund of deposit. President Bieno will look into promised LCEF check for $200. Thank you to all that attended and helped!
New Business:
1. VP Resignation: A letter was received by President Bieno from VP Elmer Payne asking to be released of his duties as VP, but retaining representative position in WI Division of Orphan Grain Train. Motion made and Seconded to accept resignation. Carried. Secretary is to send letter of thanks for 60 years of service to LLL.
2. District Rebates: Rebates will be withheld for this year until further discussions are held at the International level. Ed mentioned a special request may be allowed. Ed and Eugene will be attending the next meeting that discusses the topic. Budget for 2007 will be discussed at next meeting. District and zones may need to begin fund raisers for operations.
3. County Fair Booths: Sauk County is uncertain at this point. Request has been made to Pastor Anderson that Our Saviour, Baraboo supply the booth volunteers. If it is a go, the district would supply $150 and project connect rack with brochures. Pastor Daeke suggested we use youth volunteers with an adult.
4. Long Range planning: Gary Janetzke has taken on two jobs at the LCMS District level and will not be as available. We will discuss at next meeting.
5. Pastoral Advisor: Ed has given the a job description to Rev. John Leider. He has expressed interest and will attend our next meeting.
6. LLL Project Connect Rack: The rack should be made available at St. John Loganville for their 150th celebration on July 22, 2007. Rev Klaus will be a speaking at 2pm.
7. District Vendors: Motion made Seconded to charge vendors $15 for booth displays at the district convention. Vendors in turn would receive a free lunch. Carried. Secretary will send invites to attend following next meeting.
Regional Governor Report:
Eugene Fiedler used a power point presentation to discuss 180,000 different gifts made, new JCPlay Zone, Project Joel, and servant events available through LHM.
Officer’s Reports:
1. Pastor Advisor - Rev. Daeke: The district needs to seek ways to involve younger members. A start might begin with LHM packets for youth as they graduate from high school and college.
2. District Manager - David Martin: Fox River Zone will hold an informational meeting at camp LuWiSoMo for camp improvements on the afternoon of May 20th. An evening meal will feature Eugene Sattler, well know speaker on “Creationism”.. Information on how to conduct a LHM Sunday will be sent to all ambassadors. Let Your Light Shine will be the International LHM theme for the July 26-29th convention in Duluth,MN.
3. Information Services - David Jording: Excused
4. Education Representative - Peggy Kraase: Ambassadors have received brochures on Global Care for India. Boxes for this year are all the same size and are $3. The program runs from February 1, 2007 - January 2008.

6. Vacationland -R. Fisher: Equipping to Share workshop at Faith Lutheran in LaCrosse, January 13th, $10 registration fee. Beat the Blahs winter gathering at Peaches, Richland Center, January 20th beginning at noon.

Letters Read: A letter from Adela Hueppchen thanking the district for memorial cross and picture for Norbert in remembrance. Letter received form seminary student Loryn Church thanking the LLL district as recipient of the SDLLL endowment funds.
Adjournment: Motion made Seconded to adjourn at 12:05. Pastor Deake Closed with prayer and doxology.
